February invites us to care for the heart—physically, emotionally, and energetically. In honor of American Heart Health Month, explore non-sleep deep rest (NSDR), a restorative practice that calms the nervous system, reduces stress, and supports heart health from the inside out. NSDR is rooted in the ancient tradition of yoga nidra ("nidra" meaning sleep) and combines mindful breathing, a body scan, and visualization practices to bring oneself into an aware, yet deeply relaxed state.
