American Heart Month Activities

American Heart Month

You can support the health of your heart by implementing positive changes in your lifestyle today. Adopting healthy habits not only benefits your heart but also lowers the risk of other conditions, providing an additional incentive to embrace these tips wholeheartedly. Get regular screenings with your doctor to keep tabs on your blood pressure, cholesterol and blood sugar to manage your risk for heart disease and stroke.

National Wear Red Day is February 2

Show your support and wear red on the first Friday of the month. See the NHLBI flyer for details. Take a moment to join the cause, wear red and share the following resources with loved ones.

You will find an array of health education materials from NHBLI: Understanding Your Risks for Heart Disease, Choosing Heart Healthy Foods and an array of Fact Sheets. Don’t forget to Get Enough Good Quality Sleep and you are also welcome to join the Wellness at NIH “Non-Sleep Deep Rest Series” for relaxation and stress management.

“Make Heart Health Part of Your Self-Care Routine” with NHLBI’s flyer titled as such. And view the NIH Bethesda campus biometric screening details below to get your screening in February.
