Spring is Here: 9 Tips to Get Moving

Spring is Here! Nine Tips to Get Moving
Spring equinox and signs of transitioning to this next season of life and growth are emerging across the NIH main campus.  As we think about re-awakening from our winter slumber, here are nine creative and science-backed ways to add movement, boost confidence, and reclaim joy to your life.

  1. Make your daily walks whimsical.
  2. Punctuate your day with short bursts of movement.
  3. Pick up the pace.
  4. Make your wishes come true with WOOP (wish, outcome, obstacles, plan).
  5. Pay a 'gratitude visit'.
  6. Do something kind for someone else.
  7. Take an improv class.
  8. Talk to yourself the way you'd talk to a friend.
  9. Surround yourself with people who love you.

Do one or more of these ideas energize you? Learn more about how to incorporate them into your day in this 2024 NPR article.
