Bike to Work Day; Friday May 19

Bike to Work Day is almost here! On Friday, May 19, join the NIH Bicycle Commuter Club and the Office of Research Services, Division of Amenities and Transportation Services for a morning of biking fun. This national celebration of bicycling is an environmentally friendly, cost-effective, fun and healthy way to get to work. NIH staff are encouraged to register here for this free event. During registration, enter your employer as "MD Montgomery Co National Institutes of Health Bldg 1" to help the NIH defend its proud title as the employer with the most Bike to Work Day participants. If you register by Thursday, May 9, and ride a bicycle while wearing a helmet, pick up a free Bike to Work Day t-shirt at the NIH Pit Stop.

Biking to work is a great way to stay active and healthy, save money on gas and reduce your carbon footprint. Whether you're a seasoned bike commuter or a newbie, everyone is welcome to join the NIH Bicycle Commuter Club and celebrate Bike to Work Day. If you have never commuted by bicycle to the NIH and are not sure how to begin, explore the "Commuting" link on the NIH Bicycle Commuter Club website. You can connect with local bikers who are happy to help and even ride along with new bikers. So, mark your calendars for Friday, May 19, from 7:30 am to 9:30 am ET, and join us at the NIH Bethesda Campus in front of Building 1. Let's make this year's Bike to Work Day the best one yet!
