Yoga for Health: A New e-Book from NIH/NICCH

Are you considering practicing yoga and wondering if it's right for you? The National Institutes of Health (NIH) has published a comprehensive 40-page e-book, "Yoga for Health," that provides valuable insights. This complimentary resource explores scientific perspectives on yoga's health benefits and offers safety tips for a secure practice. Yoga has been shown to support stress management, mental health, mindfulness, healthy eating, weight loss and quality sleep. The e-book provides an overview of what the science says about yoga for health, including its use by children, older adults, pregnant women, and people with health conditions. The e-book also includes information on how to practice yoga safely, as well as a summary of national survey findings about the use of yoga in the United States.
