Over 900 Participants Gather at NIH Take A Hike Day

We are pleased to announce that the 15th Annual NIH Take-A-Hike Day, led by Dr. Alfred Johnson, was a resounding success. The event, sponsored by the Office of Research Services (ORS) and the Division of Amenities and Transportation Services (DATS), brought together an impressive turnout of over 900 individuals who were eager to engage in physical activity and enjoy a day of camaraderie.

The event commenced at Building 1 on the Bethesda Campus, where participants embarked on a 3.25-mile trek, traversing Wilson Drive and encircling the renowned NIH campus. The weather conditions were ideal, with clear skies and pleasant temperatures, setting a perfect atmosphere for this outdoor gathering.

We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the runners, walkers, and rollers who contributed to the overwhelming success of the event. NIH Take-A-Hike Day not only provided an opportunity for exercise and outdoor recreation but also fostered a sense of community and shared purpose among the participants. The wide range of locations and diverse participation demonstrated the NIH's unwavering dedication to promoting a culture of health and wellness.
