I'm so glad to be of service as your NIGMS​ NIH Well-being Ambassador representative!​​​​​



​​I'll Be Your NIH Well-being Ambassador!​​

I'm very excited​ ​to work with our staff!

In this role I will: ​
  1. Serve as a liaison to the ORS and its wellness partners (NIH Health and Wellness Council, NIH Child Care Board, Aging and Adult-Dependent Care Committee, and the Work-Life Committee).​
  2. ​Represent and promote our initiatives and research.​
  3. Actively engage and support integrating well-being into our IC culture. ​
  4. Receive suggestions and recommendations from our IC and the NIH community.​
  5. Communicate to the appropriate stakeholder groups and provide input for consideration to the ORS on well-being initiatives, programs, and activities.​
  6. Where possible, the Well-being Ambassador will participate in various stakeholder workgroups and committees. ​

I love to learn.

I have a PhD in Strategic Management and love to read academic articles about the science of management in organizations. If you want to know more about what science says about equity, diversity, inclusion, and accessibility, turnover, retention, change management, and more, let me know!​

I know what I think when I read what I write.

​​I love writing and I have contributed to print and online publications that discuss diversity in academia, the PhD student experience, completing higher education as a dyslexic student, overcoming impostor syndrome, and finding balance in academia.

I know several languages.

​​Spanish is my first language. However, I also know French, Italian, and American Sign Language. If you want tips on learning a new language or how to use AI to help you practice, let me know. Better yet – let's practice together!​

Well-being Ambassadors Program
  • ​Mission:
  • – Work directly with key well-being stakeholders to promote, support, and engage the NIH community in advancing the concept of well-being and associated IC initiatives. 

  • Duties and Responsibilities:
  • – Liaison to the Office of Research Services (ORS) and its well-being stakeholder groups that actively support and engage in activities that support employee well-being.​
    – Advocate who actively engages and supports integrating well-being into the IC’s culture.​​​
