Meet your NIMHD NIH Well-being Ambassador!​

Hello! My name is​​​

Jamie Cheman


​I'm so glad to be of service as your NIMHD NIH Well-being Ambassador representative!​​​




​​I'll Be Your NIH Well-being Ambassador!​​

​I'm very excited that I get to work with our staff!

In this role I will:

  1. Serve as a liaison to the ORS and its wellness partners (NIH Health and Wellness Council, NIH Child Care Board, Aging and Adult-Dependent Care Committee, and the Work-Life Committee).
  2. Represent and promote our IC's initiatives and research.
  3. Actively engage and support integrating well-being into our culture. 
  4. Receive suggestions and recommendations from our staff and the NIH community.
  5. Communicate to the appropriate stakeholder groups and provide input for consideration to the ORS on well-being initiatives, programs, and activities.
  6. Where possible, the Well-being Ambassador will participate in various stakeholder workgroups and committees. ​



Fun Facts About Me

Where I Came From

I grew up in Wyoming. Wyoming is the least populated state in the US. You can drive for hours in Wyoming without seeing a single person.

What I've Been Doing

I began my career at NIH at Rocky Mountain Laboratories (RML) in Hamilton, Montana in 2007.

What is My Passion

Organization Development (OD) is my passion. I earned my certification in OD at The NTL Institute for Applied Behavioral Science in 2017.

  4. is able to make a contribution to their community
  • The five interrelated well-being elements are: Financial, Physical, Social, Community, and Career.​


Well-being Ambassadors Program

  • ​​Mission:
– Work directly with key well-being stakeholders to promote, support, and engage the NIH community in advancing the concept of well-being and associated IC initiatives. 
  • Duties and Responsibilities:
– Liaison to the Office of Research Services (ORS) and its well-being stakeholder groups that actively support and engage in activities that support employee well-being.​
– Advocate who actively engages and supports integrating well-being into the IC’s culture.​​​
